US Sales Team Expansion
03 November 2022
Sondrel (Holdings) plc (AIM: SND), the fabless semiconductor business providing turnkey services in the design and delivery of 'application specific integrated circuits' ("ASICs") and 'system on chips' ("SoCs") for leading global technology brands, is pleased to announce the appointment of Thomas Flynn as VP of Sales in North America.
Thomas brings significant US industry experience and extensive relationships to the Group, having spent three decades working in the Silicon Valley semiconductor industry, including in senior management positions. Prior to joining Sondrel, Thomas was previously VP of Sales at several leading companies in the Valley, most recently, VP of Sales at Oski Technologies, where he supported significant revenue and profit growth.
The appointment of Thomas Flynn will enable the Group to build on its existing success in the USA with customers working in several technology megatrend sectors - consistent with the strategy set out at the Company's recent IPO on AIM in October 2022 where Sondrel confirmed the net proceeds of the placing would be used, amongst other things, to accelerate sales in the USA and in other geographies.
Graham Curren, CEO of Sondrel, said:
"We are delighted to welcome Thomas to the team and believe he will be a fantastic addition in delivering our IPO plans to rapidly scale the Company, with US expansion playing an important part in that growth strategy. The Group's complete turnkey service from design to shipping of ultra-complex ASICs is exactly what customers need to remain competitive and Thomas brings with him the perfect experience to leverage the strength of our leading technology solutions."
Thomas Flynn, VP of Sales in North America, commented:
"Now that the USA's CHIPS act is law, American companies are actively working on new supply chain models. A key part of this is the design of the ultra-complex chips that high technology companies need to maintain their leadership position with innovative products. There are only a handful of companies able to design these on the leading-edge, 5nm and 3nm processes required to pack in the billions of transistors per chip and several of them face restrictions as they are based in China. Sondrel, on the other hand, is a Western-based supplier making us perfectly suited for business in North America and I look forward to helping further extend US sales using this advantage."
